DOCUMENTS TO BE PROVIDED FOR A MARRIAGE CELEBRATION
1- A marriage celebration application form to be completed online, printed and signed by the future spouses. The said form can be found on the current page of the website of the High Commission
2- A handwritten request addressed to the High Commissioner with the names, complete address in Canada, the purpose of the request, the profession, the proposed date of celebration of the marriage and the signature of the future spouses if they are all Cameroonian. If one of the future spouses is not Cameroonian, he/she must submit a handwritten application signed by him/her and duly authenticated before a Commissioner for oaths. The application must be stamped at the High Commission (4 Canadian dollars)
3- A photocopy of the identity page of the valid passports of the future spouses
4- A photocopy of the documents attesting a valid status in Canada (study permit, work permit, permanent residence card, entry visa or any other residence permit issued by the Canadian government)
5- The original and photocopy of the birth certificate of each future spouse to be stamped at the High Commission (4 Canadian dollars). The future spouse of another nationality is invited to have this document legalized by the competent authorities of his/her country
6- The original and photocopy of the national identity cards of the future spouses, if applicable, to be stamped at the High Commission (4 Canadian dollars)
7- A certificate of celibacy for each of the future spouses to be obtained from the city council of the place of birth of each of the future spouses. If one of the applicants is not of Cameroonian nationality, this person must request this document from the competent authorities of his or her country
8- A certificate of custom to be obtained from the city council of the place of birth of each of the future spouses
9- An attestation of honour, only for applicants of Cameroonian nationality. The form is to be downloaded, completed and signed by both spouses. Please click on this link to access the form
10- A photocopy of the identity documents of the witnesses of the future spouses (including their valid status in Canada)
11- A photocopy of the identity documents of the heads of the families of each of the future spouses
12- 6 half-card photos of the couple, size 4 cm x 4 cm. The future spouses must have their heads glued together
13- A publication of the bans to be downloaded by clicking on this link, then printed, filled and signed at the High Commission (4 Canadian dollars)
14- A photocopy of the valid consular card of the future spouses of Cameroonian nationality. If you do not have one, please click on the following link to fill out the form. You will then have to print it, sign it and attach it to the application form for the celebration of marriage with 1 half card photo 4 cm x 4cm and $12 fee.
GENERAL INFORMATION
– Once the application for the celebration of marriage is received, the High Commission will contact the future spouses in order to collect and/or confirm certain information deemed useful for the rest of the procedure
– Please note that for various reasons (holidays in Cameroon or Canada, scheduling constraints of the Diplomatic Mission or any other unforeseen event), the proposed dates for the celebration of the marriage made by the future spouses may be subject to change. In all cases, the High Commission will communicate with the interested parties
– On the day of the marriage celebration, the future couple and their respective witnesses must be present. The physical presence of the heads of family is only required if they are present in Canada
– The various fees mentioned above, payable in the context of the application for the celebration of marriage, are payable in cash, certified check or money order to the High Commission of Cameroon.
